The Highland Health Store was established in June 1986 by John Ritchie. He initially purchased No 7 St. John Street and when No 16 St. John Street came up for sale, John split the business into two shops. John & Cherrie have retired from the business which is now managed by their son Darren and his wife, Victoria.
No 7 St. John Street is our health food shop. We focus on specialist foods suitable for everybody looking for healthier alternatives and we offer predominately vegan and vegetarian products. Since 1986 we have offered Ecover refills and also Herbs & Spices refills.
We encourage our customers to bring in their own containers to refill thus reducing single use plastics. There are also ethical homecare products available. A vast selection of organic teas. Gluten free produce and much more.
No 16 St. John Street has a fantastic range of vitamins, supplements and herbal medicines and also body care products. Darren has over 22 years of experience and training within the natural health sector and we take our duty of care towards our customers very seriously. So whether it is Vitamin C, Lions Mane Coffee or Shampoo, Body Wash and Conditioner Refills customers are looking for or maybe some vegan makeup or organic feminine sanitary products, we have fantastic products available.
