KIDS CREATIVE WORKSHOPS
Hi, I’m Lisa Earl , the owner of Create studio at the Ice Factory, Perth.
Our studio is a creative hub offering unique and inspiring weekly after school Art Clubs, themed workshops and creative holiday camps for children. We now also host art and craft workshops and private group events for adults and run special events throughout the year as part of the monthly ‘Yard’. As well as running all of these wonderful sessions, I am also kept busy with a stream of commissioned pieces for large scale events.
Create (kids creative craft workshops) began in 2009 following years as a maker of
contemporary pressed flower art with successful exhibitions at Gardening Scotland,
Edinburgh Festival, the Royal Highland Show, Ideal Homes exhibition, the Affordable Art Fair in London as well as numerous galleries around Scotland.
As soon as Art Club was born I discovered a fresh and exciting new path. My move from Maker to sharing my passion for creativity was instantly rewarded. I witnessed and helped ignite children’s stunning imaginations and now our studio is a busy treasure trove of colour and creative opportunity that inspires everyone who walks through the door. The kids weekly Art Clubs are wonderful for building confidence in a friendly, encouraging and celebratory atmosphere, and we’re proud to say our young artists return year after year.
From my studio at the Ice factory, I also work on the larger scale projects such as the
Gingerbread House in Perth’s Riverside Winter Wonderland, the giant Dementers for the Harry Potter Wizard Light Nights, the huge willow lanterns for Perth’s Chinese New Year parades, and the 4 metre ‘Big Guy’ who goes up in smoke each year at a Paisley festival!

In addition, over the years I have delivered high quality customised projects for a broad range of clients including Artlink Central, Capability Scotland, Balnacraig school, Perth & Kinross Council, 21CC Events, Wondrous Woods, West End Community Council, the Forestry Commission, Dundee Science Festival, Wildhood Festival and many others.
My work is often focused on re-using discarded materials and rebirthing them in new and stunning ways. Some examples of these were a plastic bottle house, a sensory space for adults with special needs, a giant illuminated plastic bottle Christmas tree, and junk robots made from broken wheelchair parts for Capability Scotland.
I worked with children in care as resident Eco-artist for 6 years and we produced some
incredible projects, some of which, I’m proud to say have been exhibited at the Kelvingrove Art Gallery as part of an exhibition of work by Celcis – Centre for Excellence for children’s care and protection.
Recently we have expanded into hugely popular Little Wooden House workshops for adults, receiving fantastic testimonials from participants proving these sessions are not only stimulating and creative, but also great for overall wellbeing…….and FUN!
