Ever since I was a little girl, growing up in Dunblane, I wanted to be a shop keeper. Well that was after wanting to be a nurse, then a fashion designer! At 16, I began working for Remnant Kings in Stirling, which fuelled by love of textiles.
I then went on to achieve an Honours Degree in Fashion and Textile Design Management at Heriot-Watt University. My love for fashion, accessories and textiles brought me back to Stirling, Glasgow and then Edinburgh, where I met my husband and started a family.
With years of retail experience at management level behind me and my kids at school and nursery, I opened my first shop in 2016 in Stockbridge, Edinburgh. It's been a steep learning curve becoming my own boss but one that I have loved navigating through good and hard times. I am very grateful to have established such a lovely and loyal customer base, some who have been with me right from the start.
I launched my website in 2019 and thank goodness because this got me through and out the other side of the covid episode. A definite shift in shopping patterns happened and as more people were now working from home they began to shop locally.
In December 2022, my family and I moved back to Dunblane and on the back of the success of Stockbridge I had my heart set on bringing Willow Boutique to my hometown. Forward to February 2024 and I pick up the keys to my new shop on Springfield Terrace.
Having been open for a few weeks now, the response has been amazing and long may it continue. Thank you for making me feel so welcome and It's so lovely to see familiar faces and of course, new ones.
