SUPPORTING RURAL BUSINESSES
GrowBiz helps local people build businesses and enterprises for themselves.
Based in Perthshire and offering free support services across all of rural Scotland, our team have a wide range of skills and experience to support both start-ups and existing enterprises; and GrowBiz offers a customised approach to every client based on what they need.
Founded in 2007, GrowBiz’s unique community support model has supported more than 1200 rural businesses in the last three years and receives requests for support on a daily basis from a diverse range of individuals and entrepreneurs in every sector. We supported many of these rural/island businesses to adapt their products and services through the pandemic, and we have seen how transformational digital upskilling has been for many small enterprises (and communities).
GrowBiz services include:
· 1:1 support sessions — providing specific advice from a trained enterprise advisor.
· Peer support meetings — for businesses in a specific sector to meet, share and collaborate.
· Networking events — featuring guest speakers, facilitated discussion and networking opportunities.
· Learning sessions — run on a range of topics that are tailored to the audience’s current needs.
· Business mentoring programme — accredited by the Scottish Mentoring Network.
· Support for the creative sector – including Perthshire Artisans.
· Care & Wellbeing – enterprising solutions to health and social care in rural areas.
· Perth & Kinross Social Enterprise Directory — promoting and supporting social enterprises.
· Rural Enterprise Directory Scotland (REDS) — an online directory of Scotland’s small rural businesses.
· Self-Employment and Entrepreneurial Development (SEED) — enterprise support for young people.
As a charity supported by the Scottish Government and other funders we are able to offer our services to businesses in rural Scotland for free.
